Nato nel 1970 a Landsberg am Lech, Germania, Boris Zbikowski porta nella sua pratica ceramica un background multidisciplinare. Dopo essersi trasferito a Londra nel 1993, ha lavorato come stylist per 6 anni. Nel 2000 e entrato in Prada, dove ha trascorso diversi anni come buyer per Germania, Austria, Svizzera e Regno Unito. Nel 2006 si e trasferito a Berlino, passando a una carriera nel set design e interior design.
Dopo una lunga passione per la ceramica, ha fondato BoZ Ceramics, dove realizza grandi vasi scultorei utilizzando le tradizionali tecniche di costruzione a colombino.. Questo processo lento e meditativo permette a ogni forma di evolversi organicamente. Il suo lavoro con gli smalti e sperimentale e intuitivo, spesso combina ricette sviluppate da lui con superfici grezze non smaltate, per evidenziare il dialogo tra materiale e finitura.
Influenzato dal suo background nel design, concepisce ogni pezzo in relazione al suo ambiente—considerando architettura, luce e atmosfera. Traendo ispirazione dalla natura, dal cinema e dalle forme strutturali, il suo lavoro si colloca all’intersezione tra oggetto, spazio e presenza.
Titolo: La Famiglia – Serie di senza strumenti - Gruppo di cinque vasi in ceramica. Tutti i pezzi sono costruiti a mano con la tecnica del colombino. La tecnica e ridotta alla sua forma piu pura, senza l’uso di strumenti, ma solo con il gesto della mano. Tutti i pezzi sono realizzati in gres chiaro e rifiniti con una leggera applicazione a pennello di smalto bianco. Grande vaso panciuto: D40 x H27 cm. Grande vaso a calice: D39 x H24 cm. Tre piccole ciotole: D14 x H9 cm, D17 x H7 cm, D16 x H12 cm.

Born in 1970 in Landsberg am Lech, Germany, Boris Zbikowski brings a multidisciplinary background to his ceramic practice. After moving to London in 1993, he worked as a stylist for 6 years. In 2000 he joined Prada, where he spent several years as a buyer for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK. In 2006 he relocated to Berlin, transitioning into a career in set- and interior design.
After a long lasting passion for ceramics, he founded BoZ Ceramics, where he creates large, sculptural vessels using traditional coil-building techniques. This slow, meditative process allows each form to evolve organically. His glaze work is experimental and intuitive, often combining self-developed recipes with raw, unglazed surfaces to highlight the dialogue between material and finish.
Influenced by his background in design, he conceives each piece in relation to its environment—considering architecture, light, and atmosphere. Drawing inspiration from nature, film, and structural forms, his work exists at the intersection of object, space, and presence.
Title: The Family – No tools series - Group of five ceramic vessels. All pieces are hand built with the coil technique. The technique is reduced to it’s pures form not using any tools, only the gesture of the hand. All pieces are made of light stoneware clay and finished with lightly brushed on white glaze.
