My pieces are large, sculptural vessels crafted from stoneware clay. I use the old and traditional coil-building technique. A beautifully slow process, which resists rushing. Learning to master this craft has taught me patience.
When working with glaze, I enjoy creating my own recipes. My application often highlighs the beauty of the raw, unglazed clay alongside the glazed areas.
In designing both individual pieces and series, I am guided by a clear vision of where I want my objects to find their home. With a background in Interior Design and Set Design, I appreciate the power of the right object in the right spot and I aim to create pieces that complement and complete a setting or a space.
I draw from a rich palette of inspirations—nature, film, architecture—and I try to translate them into my work with sensitivity.
